Sarah Papich

Retail Credit Risk Analysis Division

Sarah Papich is a Financial Economist in the Retail Credit Risk Analysis Division within Supervision Risk & Analysis at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

In her research, Dr. Papich employs causal inference techniques from econometrics to study a variety of topics in consumer finance. Her research interests include studying the effects of new technologies on consumer finance, such as fintech lending, and characterizing the conditions under which individuals benefit from an increase in credit access. She has also published research in public economics and health economics.

Before joining the OCC in 2024, Dr. Papich received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California Santa Barbara.
