The Minority Depository Institutions Advisory Committee (MDIAC) advises the OCC on issues and opportunities facing minority depository institutions. It is designed to provide advice to help meet the goals of Section 308 of the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act of 1989.
The committee provides an invaluable perspective on the business environment affecting minority depository institutions, their customers, and the communities they serve. The committee also provides advice and insight regarding the condition of minority depository institutions, potential regulatory changes or steps that may promote the health and viability of minority depository institutions, and other issues affecting these institutions. The committee includes officers and directors of minority depository institutions and other depository institutions committed to supporting minority depository institutions of all types, sizes, operating strategies, and geographic areas. Minority depository institutions frequently provide financial services to low-moderate income and minority communities.
