WASHINGTON — The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has renewed the charter of its Minority Depository Institutions Advisory Committee (MDIAC), which assists the OCC in assessing the needs and challenges facing minority depository institutions.
“The OCC places great importance on the input we receive from the members of the Minority Depository Institutions Advisory Committee,” said Acting Comptroller of the Currency Michael J. Hsu. “These institutions are critical resources and key drivers of economic growth for individuals and businesses in the diverse communities they serve.”
The MDIAC provides advice to the Comptroller of the Currency about minority depository institutions, their current condition, potential regulatory changes that may promote their health and viability, and other issues affecting these institutions. The committee includes officers and directors of minority depository institutions of all types, sizes, operating strategies, and geographic areas, as well as from other depository institutions committed to supporting minority depository institutions.
