The First National Bank & Trust Company of Ada, Oklahoma changed its business name to Vision Bank, N.A. on April 4, 2005. The bank has reported that counterfeit cashier’s checks issued in the bank’s former name are being presented for payment. The counterfeit checks may be identified by the following. The checks usually list the remitter as Tandi Ray. They have a blue marble background with the bank’s name and logo printed at the top center. The words “Pay Exactly” do not appear before the printed monetary amount, and common payment amounts are $2,980 and $40,950. The number “1” in the logo appears in a dark color enclosed by a box. An incorrect telephone number of 1-888-225-3873 appears below the bank’s logo, and the recorded message begins with the greeting of “First National Bank” and informs callers that the counterfeit checks are valid.
Authentic cashier’s checks issued by the bank also have a blue marble background with the bank’s name and logo printed at the top center; however, there is no telephone number appearing below the logo. The box surrounding the logo is dark with a light colored “1” inside with the words “1st of Ada.” These authentic checks usually have the facsimile signature of LaVonda Jones and show her title as Senior VP & Cashier.
You can verify the authenticity of First National Bank & Trust Company of Ada, OK or Vision Bank, N.A. cashier’s checks by contacting LaVonda Jones, EVP, via telephone at (580) 332-5132; fax at (580) 436-8307; or lavonda.jones@fnbada.com.
