WASHINGTON — The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency today announced Morris Morgan has been named Large Bank Deputy Comptroller.
"I am pleased to announce the selection of Morris as Large Bank Deputy Comptroller," said Senior Deputy Comptroller for Large Bank Supervision Mike Brosnan. "He brings nearly 30 years of bank supervision experience to his new role and will make an important contribution as a member of our team leading the supervision of our country’s largest and most complex banks."
In this role, Mr. Morgan will lead the examination teams at a portfolio of large banks and thrifts and the data analytics teams. He will transition from his current position as Examiner-in-Charge at PNC to his new post over the next several weeks.
Mr. Morgan joined Large Bank Supervision in March 1999 and was assigned to the Bank of America examination team, where he served in general supervision duties before progressing to team leader roles covering capital markets, asset management, and then commercial credit. He joined the OCC in 1985, examining banks in the Southwest District. In his career at the OCC, Mr. Morgan held a variety of bank roles in bank supervision, analysis, and policy in the field and at OCC headquarters.
Mr. Morgan fills the vacancy created when Deputy Comptroller Joe Evers retired at the end of November.
Mr. Morgan became a commissioned National Bank Examiner on June 16, 1989, and holds a BBA in finance from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in September 1999.
