WASHINGTON—The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has renewed the charter of its Mutual Savings Association Advisory Committee (MSAAC), which advises the agency on issues and opportunities facing mutual savings institutions.
"The Mutual Savings Association Advisory Committee is a valuable forum to discuss a broad range of issues and concerns unique to the mutual thrift industry," said Comptroller of the Currency Thomas J. Curry. "We're pleased to renew this committee's charter and support a diverse national banking system."
The MSAAC provides advice to the Comptroller of the Currency about mutual savings associations and assesses their current condition, regulatory changes that may promote their health and viability, and other issues affecting these institutions. The committee includes officers and directors of federal mutual savings institutions of all types, sizes, operating strategies, and geographic areas, as well as from federal savings associations in a mutual holding company structure.
